Jim Steinmann has 38 years of experience in directing programming, planning and management studies, and providing project management and owner representation services for government and corporate clients throughout the United States.

Jim Steinmann's technical participation on consulting assignments includes: program management, strategic planning, forecasting, financial and life-cycle cost analysis, design/build and design competition management, architectural programming and space planning. He has provided these facility management consulting services for over 400 clients while in continuous consulting practice since 1970.

His professional experience includes facility programming and planning, facilities management, development consulting, space planning, and project management. Jim has assisted 35 corporations develop major facilities of between 150,000 and 1,600,000 square feet, providing services ranging from strategic planning to relocation coordination, project management, and site selection. Mr. Steinmann has participated in over 40 court system planning studies including more than 2000 judicial positions. He has developed master plans and conducted operational analyses of court systems ranging in scale to 700 courtrooms for the City of New York. He has directed 17 detention, 16 law enforcement, and 23 maintenance yard/service center studies in addition to 38 county and municipal office complexes and civic centers and seven state capitol complex master plans.

Jim has directed facility master planning and architectural programming studies for 60 multi-facility complexes and special use buildings that total over 30 million square feet. Eleven projects were in excess of 1,000,000 square feet each. He has significant expertise in corporate offices, courts, detention, law enforcement, government campuses, civic centers, design/build development, design competition management, and space planning. His experience includes projects requiring physical and sensitive data/technology security, high reliability, and workplace technology applications.

Since 1994, Jim has directed design or design/build competition for stadiums, arenas, convention centers, twenty state, county, and city government buildings and five public schools. He is a leading authority in design/build applications and provides design/build procurement assistance to public and private sector owners.

Recent projects have included a number of quarter million square foot or larger development projects where Jim directed studies beginning with forecasting requirements, site selection, and the development of a program and performance specification, through administering a design or design/build competition, project management and space planning and interior design services for Clark County (Las Vegas), San Joaquin County (California), Caltrans, the State of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado and the cities of Oakland, Denver, Norfolk (VA), and Seattle.

During 2008 Jim will be programming a 450,000 sq. ft Criminal Investigation Headquarters for the country of Kuwait, completing a facility master plan for Sarasota County (FL), and managing the implementation of a $385 million development for the Colorado State Center of Justice and the Colorado History Museum.
